Course Description:
This course discusses different types of anxiety, provides methods for communicating with patients with anxiety, and explains when and what should be reported to the nurse.
Course Outcome:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to identify, care for, and communicate with patients with anxiety.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define anxiety.
- Describe the symptoms of anxiety disorders.
- Differentiate between the various forms of anxiety disorders.
- Recognize the defense mechanisms used by patients with anxiety.
- Determine what can be done to help a patient experiencing anxiety.
- Describe what should be watched for and reported to the nurse when caring for a patient with anxiety.
