Description

• Report and be able to furnish documentation of having completed a BOC-approved Emergency Cardiac Care Course during the current renewal year of December 1 through November 30. Detailed guidelines are provided.
• Report and be able to furnish proof of current BOC certification in the form of a copy of the current BOC Certification Card or printout of BOC on-line verification. BOC certification shall be considered acceptable documentation that BOC-certified licensees are in compliance with the BOC’s continuing education requirements for ongoing credentialing. 

• The licensed athletic trainers who were issued a license pursuant to Code of Ala 1975, Section 34-40-7, exempting them from BOC certification are required to report twenty-six (26) contact hours of continuing education annually, with seven (7) of those hours being in an approved emergency cardiac care course.   Detailed continuing education guidelines and emergency cardiac care guidelines are provided. Documentation must also be submitted on the forms furnished by the Board showing proof of completion of all twenty-six (26) hours.

Each physical therapy assistant licensed to practice by this Board shall complete for each compliance period, a minimum of ten (10) contact hours of continuing education activities. One hour of continuing education is defined as 50 minutes of engagement in the continuing education activity.
October 1 through September 30 of the next year shall constitute a compliance period

**Pre-approval for courses offered is not required. We will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of physical therapy.

  • The name, address and telephone number of the delegating physician, the name of the APRN, the APRN's DEA number, if applicable, and the name and address of the patient, the drug or device prescribed, the number of refills and directions to the patient with regard to taking and dosage of the drug; and
  • The prescription shall be signed by the APRN and shall be on a form which shall include the names of the APRN and delegating physician who are parties to the nurse protocol agreement
• The delegating physician shall make certain that the medical acts provided by the APRN pursuant to the protocol agreement are:

  • The prescription shall be signed by the APRN and shall be on a form which shall include the names of the APRN and delegating physician who are parties to the nurse protocol agreement
• The delegating physician shall make certain that the medical acts provided by the APRN pursuant to the protocol agreement are:
  • Commensurate with the education, training, experience, and competence of the APRN:
