Course Description:
This course discusses the postpartum period, the physiologic changes that occur in the postpartum period, the essential assessments that should occur for postpartum patients, the specialized needs of these patients, and the complications that are known to occur within the postpartum period.
Outcomes:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to care for a postpartum patient.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define the postpartum period.
- Describe the physiologic changes that occur in the postpartum period.
- Explain the essential postpartum assessments.
- Identify the needs of a postpartum patient.
