Course Description:
This course discusses the role CNAs and HHAs can have in an emergency situation. It discusses consent and parts of the visual assessment. Specific emergencies, such as burns and stroke, are also reviewed.
Course Outcome:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to identify and react to an emergency health concern in an outpatient setting.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define the role of acting in a medical emergency.
- Identify why a person's consent is necessary to help them.
- List the elements of a visual assessment.
- Identify the response to specific emergencies.
- Describe the importance of a timely response to stroke symptoms.
