Course Description:
This course discusses the definition of a dependent adult, what dependent adult (elder) abuse is, types of abuse, how to identify the signs, how to prevent it, and how to report it.
Outcomes
≥ 92% of participants will know how to identify and report elder abuse.
Objectives
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define dependent adult.
- Identify cultural beliefs about dependent adults.
- Describe types of dependent adult (elder) abuse.
- Identify signs of abuse.
- Describe actions to take if signs of abuse are suspected.
- Identify risk factors of abuse.
