Course Description: 

This course discusses cultural competency in healthcare and important elements of culture. Specific definitions, models of care, and inclusive language are also discussed.

Outcomes: 

≥ 92% of participants will know how to be culturally competent.

Objectives: 

After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to complete the following objectives:

  1. Define cultural competence.
  2. Identify factors of culture.
  3. Explain appropriate communication services.
  4. Compare models of care.
  5. Define lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or questioning (LGBTQ+) terms.
