Course Description:
This course discusses sports-related concussions in student-athletes. This course includes sports-related concussion presentation and symptoms, evaluation, management, treatment, and prevention.
Outcomes:
>92% of participants will know how to recognize and direct care for sports-related concussions in the setting of student-athletes.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate the need for concussion education.
- Explore prevention strategies to reduce the rate of concussions.
- Calculate when to implement at least two separate assessment tools.
- Recommend at least two evidence-based management strategies for concussions.
- Investigate the long-term effects of concussion.
