Course Description:
This course encompasses the management of surgical errors and adverse events.
Outcomes:
≥92% of participants will understand the etiology of surgical errors and ways to prevent them.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define the term "never events."
- Identify which updated term has replaced "never events" in the medical literature.
- Identify the components of wrong-site surgeries.
- Describe the purpose of the National Time Out Day.
- Describe how a surgical site should be marked.
