Course Description:
This course aims to ensure healthcare professionals provide consistent and up-to-date information across healthcare settings and are adequately prepared to address challenges in achieving vaccine goals for optimum pediatric health outcomes.
Outcomes:
≥ 92% of participants will know how vaccines work, the diseases they prevent, and the most up-to-date vaccine schedule for children and adolescents.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Summarize the disease a vaccine is designed to prevent and the impact of the vaccine on disease prevalence.
- Conclude which vaccines may be given at a traditional pediatric wellness visit.
- Characterize the risk factors associated with the diseases commonly vaccinated against in pediatrics.
- Outline the benefits of combination vaccines and list some potential brands available.
- Indicate diseases at high risk of a resurgence with vaccine delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Differentiate between contraindications and precautions with vaccine administration.
- Compare common themes for vaccine hesitancy and summarize communication tactics for these patients.
