Course Description:
This course discusses a few of the major pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and intellectual and developmental disorders (IDDs). It discusses the risk factors, screening tools, assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment for each of these individual neurodevelopmental conditions.
Outcomes:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to identify the major neurodevelopmental disorders, screening, and treatment recommendations in pediatric patients.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the major neurodevelopmental disorders in pediatrics.
- List the risk factors of pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Examine the appropriate screening tools for pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Interpret the signs and symptoms to be included in the assessment of distinct pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Determine the appropriate management of pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Plan appropriate treatment for pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
