Course Description:
This course discusses a current and evidence-based framework for understanding the atopic triad and its’ effects on the body in a broad and system-specific manner. Understanding the impact of a widespread inflammatory and hypersensitive immune response is necessary for clinicians who care for patients with this cluster of conditions and is the basis for disease identification and treatment. Appropriate management and knowledge of these conditions also serve to reduce the impact of comorbid conditions or complications, overall improving patient care outcomes.
Outcomes:
≥ 92% of participants will know the components of the atopic triad and how to identify these conditions.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the risk factors for atopic conditions.
2. Outline the common environmental triggers for conditions within the atopic triad.
3. Differentiate between the clinical presentations of conditions within the atopic triad.
4. Determine the diagnostic tests used for identifying conditions within the atopic triad.
5. Identify the comorbid conditions for patients with atopy.
6. Describe the important patient education for patients with atopic conditions.
7. Interpret the potential complications of atopic conditions.
8. Determine the appropriate management strategies for conditions within the atopic triad.
