Course Description:
This course discusses pediatric abusive head trauma (AHT), including risk factors, treatment and management, clinical presentation, and prognosis of children affected by AHT.

After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
Outline the prevalence of pediatric abusive head trauma (AHT) in the United States.
Determine the mechanism and injury-associated pathophysiology of pediatric AHT.
Summarize the prognosis of pediatric AHT.
Identify the economic impact of child maltreatment.
Identify the clinical presentation, signs and symptoms, and conditions associated with pediatric AHT.
Explain interventions clinicians can provide to reduce the risk of pediatric AHT.
List risk factors associated with pediatric AHT.
