Course Description:
This course discusses the problem of the increasing rate of cesarean delivery, cases in which cesarean delivery is justified, the reasoning behind why cesarean delivery rates continue to rise in the United States, the interventions that can be done to decrease cesarean rates, and modalities of labor support that can be offered to mothers.
Outcomes:
≥ 92% of participants will know interventions they can use to help reduce the c-section rate.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- State why it is important to decrease the c-section rate.
- List the reasons why a c-section is justified.
- Determine why c-section rates are rising in the United States.
- Describe the interventions that may decrease the c-section rate.
- Identify the ways that labor support can be provided.
