Course Description:

This course discusses schizophrenia, including its causes and symptoms. This course also outlines how to care for a patient with schizophrenia and what types of things should be reported to the nurse.  

Outcomes:

Objectives:

After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define schizophrenia.
  2. Outline symptoms and the progression of schizophrenia.
  3. Explain how to care for a patient with schizophrenia.
  4. Produce a list of what needs to be reported to the nurse.
  5. Summarize coping mechanisms the caregiver/healthcare worker can use.
