Course Description:
This course discusses mental illness during pregnancy, the signs and symptoms of specific disorders, the various risks and complications if they are left untreated or undertreated, and potential treatments that are available.
Course Outcome:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to recognize mental illness and the specific concerns during pregnancy.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define mental illness during pregnancy.
- Identify the signs and symptoms of mental illness during pregnancy.
- Interpret the risks and complications of mental illness during pregnancy.
- Explain the recommended treatment for patients with mental illness during pregnancy.
- Describe the appropriate nursing care for the woman with mental illness during pregnancy.
