Course Description:
This course discusses the clinical differences between specific types of anxiety disorders, which disorders are more common for children or adolescents versus those more common in adulthood, the screening tools available for identifying anxiety, and the management and treatment for anxiety disorders. This course will also pay special attention to providing helpful tools that can be utilized to minimize symptoms of anxiety.
Course Outcome:
≥ 92% of participants will know how to assess for and manage anxiety disorders.
Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the participant will be able to:
- Define anxiety and the physical symptoms that are commonly experienced.
- Compare and contrast the common anxiety disorders diagnosed across the lifespan.
- Determine how assessing for anxiety in children and adolescents may be different than in adults.
- List the screening tools utilized for anxiety disorders.
- Explain the management and treatment of anxiety disorders.
- Outline the various helpful tools that can be used to minimize symptoms of anxiety.
