Course Description:
This course discusses what organs may be donated, how they are procured and transplanted, the recovery process, possible risks, ways to prevent rejection, and the nursing role in the organ donation process.
Outcomes:

Objectives:
After completing this continuing education course, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the types of organs and tissues that may be donated.
- Elaborate on the role of the organ procurement organization.
- Outline the organ and tissue donation and recovery process.
- Identify strategies to prevent and treat organ/tissue rejection.
- Summarize the healthcare professional's role concerning organ and tissue donation.
