Athletic Trainers who are BOC Certified:- Report and be able to furnish documentation of having completed a BOC-approved Emergency Cardiac Care Course during the current renewal year of December 1 through November 30. Detailed guidelines are provided.
- Report and be able to furnish proof of current BOC certification in the form of a copy of the current BOC Certification Card or printout of BOC on-line verification. BOC certification shall be considered acceptable documentation that BOC-certified licensees are in compliance with the BOC’s continuing education requirements for ongoing credentialing.
- The licensed athletic trainers who were issued a license pursuant to Code of Ala 1975, Section 34-40-7, exempting them from BOC certification are required to report twenty-six (26) contact hours of continuing education annually, with seven (7) of those hours being in an approved emergency cardiac care course. Detailed continuing education guidelines and emergency cardiac care guidelines are provided. Documentation must also be submitted on the forms furnished by the Board showing proof of completion of all twenty-six (26) hours.
